CUMULUS MEDIA Director of Web Operations ROBERT J. SHIFLET is retiring after a 30-year radio career. SHIFLET joined WBAP-A in FORT WORTH as community service director in 1985 and witnessed CAPITAL CITIES' purchase of ABC RADIO AND TELEVISION, followed by the purchase of ABC by THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY.
SHIFLET served a number of years as marketing director for the five-station DALLAS/FORT WORTH ABC RADIO cluster, as well as manager of the TEXAS RANGERS RADIO NETWORK. He built the first websites for WBAP-A and KSCS-F in 1995, and ultimately was named Director of Internet Operations for the ABC RADIO division of DISNEY. He stayed in the digital realm at the corporate level after DISNEY's sale to CITADEL and ultimately with CUMULUS MEDIA's subsequent acquisition of CITADEL.
