Longtime ALASKA PUBLIC MEDIA noncommercial Variety KSKA/ANCHORAGE "SOUL TO SOUL" host MARVELL JOHNSON was shot and killed at his home in ANCHORAGE TUESDAY (10/7), and his foster son has been charged with his murder.
The station is reporting that JOHNSON, 64, host on KSKA for 35 years, was allegedly killed by PETER JOHN HENRY, 16; HENRY told police he was angry because JOHNSON had grounded him for using Spice and his vapor cigarette charger. Police say HENRY tried to stage the murder as a robbery and coerced another boy with threats to help him get rid of evidence. JOHNSON and his wife SHERI, who co-hosted "SOUL TO SOUL," took in several foster children over the years along with their own four biological children,
ALASKA DISPATCH NEWS reports that HENRY has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder, coercion, theft and tampering with physical evidence.
