ALL ACCESS congratulates BLAKE SHELTON and the entire WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE (WMN) team on topping this week’s Country and all-genre album charts with “Bringing Back the Sunshine,” which debuted with more than 100,000 copies sold, according to NIELSEN SOUNDSCAN figures.
This marks SHELTON’s second-ever all-genre #1 album, as “Red River Blue” achieved a similar feat in 2011.
Additionally, “Bringing Back The Sunshine” is just the third Country album to top the all-genre album category in 2014, joining ERIC CHURCH’s “The Outsiders” in MARCH and MIRANDA LAMBERT’s “Platinum” in JUNE.
Significantly, right behind SHELTON was CAPITOL’s LADY ANTEBELLUM with “747” moving 74,000 copies its debut week. Country albums have not pulled off this rare double since 2010, when TAYLOR SWIFT’s “Speak Now” and JASON ALDEAN’s “My Kinda Party” ranked #1 and #2, respectively.
