Recent ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME nominee (this time as a solo artist), STING sits down with host JAMES LIPTON for an episode of BRAVO MEDIA's EMMY-winning "Inside The Actors Studio," set to air THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23rd at 8p (ET/PT).
The singer-songwriter will discuss everything from his time with THE POLICE to his forthcoming BROADWAY musical “The Last Ship,” which opens OCTOBER 26th at the NEIL SIMON THEATRE. STING has received 16 GRAMMYS, a GOLDEN GLOBE, an EMMY and has earned three OSCAR nominations, along with a membership in both the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME (as a member of THE POLICE) and the SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME.
“In the 21 years of ‘Inside the Actors Studio,’ there has never been an episode like STING's,” says LIPTON. “Performing numerous songs and revealing himself with unprecedented candor, irresistible charm and undisguised emotion, he has brought us a STING that his legion of followers has never seen before. Upon the opening of “The Last Ship,” the magic begins on our stage.”
From the meaning behind the nickname “STING” to the truth behind his infamous quote on tantric sex, the show provides an in-depth retrospective of the musician’s fascinating career. The episode also includes additional interviews with RACHEL TUCKER, MICHAEL ESPER and JIMMY NAIL of “The Last Ship,” which marks STING’s debut as a BROADWAY composer and is inspired by his memories of the shipbuilding community of WALLSEND, ENGLAND, where he was born and raised. Additionally, viewers will hear and see STING perform various songs spanning his four-decade-long career.
