JOHN DOE, cofounder of legendary L.A.punk band X, and SONGS MUSIC PUBLISHING Head of Creative Services TOM DESAVIA will co-write a book about the birth of the HOLLYWOOD punk-rock scene in the late '70s and '80s.
Entitled "Under The Big Black Sun," the book will be a personal history straight from the mouths of the scenes' insiders and will be published by DA CAPO PRESS. The authors, who are longtime friends, will tap into relationships cultivated through the years for insights, stories and other behind-th- curtain happenings in the nascent punk-rock scene. "Under The Big Black Sun," named after one of X's most acclaimed albums, is expected to hit stores in the spring of 2016.
The deal was made by literary agent LYNN JOHNSTON to DA CAPO PRESS executive editor BEN SCHAFER. Founded in 1964, DA CAPO PRESS counts a wide-ranging and respected collection of mostly non-fiction books among its releases, specializing in music projects.
