On THURSDAY (10/9), CAPITOL BROADCASTING Hot AC WRAL (MIX 101.5)/RALEIGH's GENE & JULIE MORNING SHOW challenged their listeners to see just how far they would go to win four front row tickets to see the theatrical performance of "WICKED."
GENE & JULIE asked listeners to tell them why they felt they should receive tickets to the show, and then invited the top five contestants into the studio and asked them if they would "GIVE THEIR RIGHT ARM" for the chance to win the grand prize. They were then fitted with bright green casts on their right arms by WAKE ORTHOPAEDICS and instructed to collect the signatures of well-known or famous people on their casts. The contestant with the best signatures and the most "WICKED" spirit would win.
Four days later, the contestants returned with their casts signed by local television personalities, city and state officials, local business owners, NORTH CAROLINA HURRICANES players and other celebrities including CLAY AIKEN.
TODAY (10/13), the contestants returned to the studio to find out who won and have their casts removed. After announcing the winner, GENE & JULIE had some surprise consolation gifts for the other contestants.
