ALL ACCESS congratulates JASON ALDEAN and the entire team at BROKEN BOW RECORDS, for a #1 debut on the All-genre and Country albums chart with “Old Boots, New Dirt,” which sold 278,000 copies last WEEK, according to NIELSEN SOUNDSCAN figures.
ALDEAN’s first-week result marks his second consecutive #1 album debut, following 2012’s “Night Train.” And “Old Boots” is also 2014’s third-largest sales debut, behind COLDPLAY’s “Ghost Stories,” with 383,000 and ERIC CHURCH’s “The Outsiders,” which moved 288,000 copies earlier this year.
Additionally, ALDEAN’s chart-topping album marks the first time in more than a year that Country albums have ranked #1 in back-to-back weeks. LADY ANTEBELLUM’s “Golden” and KENNY CHESNEY’s “Life On A Rock” pulled that rare double in MAY of 2013.
