Longtime BRAZOS VALLEY Country KORA/BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, TX PD/Morning personality ROGER “WWW” GARRETT has announced his retirement, effective WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31st.
“We’re saddened that ROGER’s leaving KORA and BRAZOS VALLEY Radio, but extremely thankful for the many years of entertainment and service he’s given our stations and the BRAZOS VALLEY communities we serve,” said BRAZOS GM JOHN SEIGLER. “ROGER’s been a valuable contributing member of the BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION community for many years. His strong relationships with community leaders and organizations on our behalf will be missed. We’re excited for him as he explores a new phase of life. We’ll miss him greatly, but he’ll always be welcome on air at 98.3 KORA."
GARRETT is a 45-year radio vet with market stops that include SHERVEPORT, AUSTIN and HOUSTON. He’s spent the past 23 years in BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, working at four stations there, including the last 15 at KORA.
“It’s been a good ride, well over 45 years of my life, and I am not done yet,” said GARRETT. “This ‘retirement’ is a transition to creating an internet radio station and a bible study series with ‘No Boundaries.’ And, there will be a ROGER ‘WWW’ GARRETT Oldies show coming to Oldies 107.3 in 2015!”
BRAZOS General Partner TOMMY VASCOCU tells ALL ACCESS the search is on for GARRETT's successor; candidates are encouraged to send materials to VASCOCU here.
