iHeartMedia Receives Gold Award For Obamacare PR Campaign

iHEARTMEDIA has received the Gold Award for Audio Campaign of the Year from MODERN HEALTHCARE AND ADVERTISING AGE's inaugural HEALTHCARE MARKETING IMPACT AWARDS. iHEARTMEDIA partnered with THE CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES, WEBER SHANDWICK and the MEDIA PARTNERSHIP CORP. (MPC) to develop and execute a radio media plan that increased awareness and enrollment for health insurance through www.healthcare.gov.
The targeted, high-frequency radio campaign aired during the www.healthcare.gov open enrollment period of OCTOBER 15th, 2013 to MARCH 15th, 2014 and reached more than 14 million listeners across the country. Enrollment figures increased by an average of 6% in states where the program aired.
The campaign targeted 18-34 listeners in 17 states – AZ, FL, GA, IN, LA, MI, MO, NJ, NC, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA and WI. Public service announcements voiced by performing artists including JASON DERULO, TRAIN, TRAVIE MCCOY, SAMMY HAGER and more ran simultaneously to encourage uninsured individuals to get insured through www.healthcare.gov.
