RON FAIR is out as Chief Creative Officer/EVP at VIRGIN RECORDS after being brought in by CAPITOL MUSIC GROUP head STEVE BARNETT just under two years ago to revitalize the company, according to several media reports.
FAIR joined the label in early 2013 to recharge the one-time flourishing label, which merged with CAPITOL RECORDS in 2007.
The veteran A&R executive has held roles at ISLAND, RCA and A&M RECORDS, serving as Chairman of GEFFEN RECORDS before joining VIRGIN.
FAIR is credited, among other accomplishments, with discovering CHRISTINA AGUILERA while at RCA, and forming THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS, earning GRAMMYS for hits with MARY J. BLIGE and QUEEN LATIFAH.
