UNIVISION has dropped the Spanish Talk on WQBU/LONG ISLAND, NY. Formerly known as UNIVISION AMERICA NEW YORK, the new "92.7 FM NUEVA YORK" will feature a music-intensive lineup with a focus on Regional Mexican hits. The station will air two of UNIVISION's syndicated shows -- "El Show de RAUL BRINDIS" from 6-8a and "El Bueno, La Mala, y El Feo" (The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly) from 8a-1p (EST), MONDAY through FRIDAY.
The company said the change, "is a result of extensive research in the NY-DMA, where the Mexican population has increased by 62% since 2000, and listeners have expressed a strong interest in the Regional Mexican format."
"Our mission is to give audiences what they want and we heard them loud and clear," said UNIVISION RADIO Pres. JOSE VALLE. "We are now bringing the best Regional Mexican music along with our top two morning shows from across the country to our audience in NEW YORK."
