It wouldn't be a WORLD SERIES unless the Mayors and radio staions of the opposing cities -- in this case, SAN FRANCISCO and KANSAS CITY -- weren't making bets on the outcome. So it is with CBS RADIO Alternative KITS (LIVE 105)/SAN FRANCISCO and ENTERCOM Alternative KRBZ (96.5 THE BUZZ)/KANSAS CITY, who have made a wager of, as LIVE 105 refers to it, "musical proportions."
Last weekend 96.5 THE BUZZ, on behalf of their hometown ROYALS, approached LIVE 105's rabid GIANTS rooters with a friendly wager.
If THE ROYALS win the SERIES, LIVE 105 promises to throw OUTSIDES, a band from KANSAS CITY, into their rotation. If THE GIANTS win, 96.5 THE BUZZ will filter BAY AREA band WATERS into theirs.
K.C.'s OUTSIDES recently released an EP, "Millions," with an EDM sound that has been compared to PASSION PIT, M83, TORO Y MOI and PHOENIX, and have been receiving a great deal of airply on local station THE BUZZ.
WATERS is the project from PORT O'BRIEN ex-frontman VAN PIERSZALOWSKI, and its brand of indie-rock has been supported locally by LIVE 105 since the group's inception in 2011. The band just recently signed to VAGRANT RECORDS.
