CBS RADIO Sports WXYT (97.1 THE TICKET)/DETROIT middays The KARSCH AND ANDERSON Show have set up a bet with MIKE VALENTI from the afternoon VALENTI AND FOSTER show on the MICHIGAN vs. MICHIGAN STATE game this SATURDAY -- and they've asked listeners to join in. Each radio personality picked their “winning” team and will donate $500 toward the charities, while asking listeners to take on the same challenge with their friends and donate to each charity.
DOUG KARSCH has picked the UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN to win and chose a charity that will help the grandson of former UM LLOYD CARR. CARR’s grandson was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in SEPTEMBER 2014. Funds raised at www.chadtough.com will go directly to pediatric brain cancer research at C.S. MOTT CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL.
SCOTT “GATOR” ANDERSON and MIKE VALENTI have picked Michigan State to win and chose DICK VITALE’s V FOUNDATION FOR CANCER RESEARCH in honor of “PRINCESS LACEY,” who was MICHIGAN STATE player ADREIAN PAYNE’s biggest little fan, LACEY HOLSWORTH. HOLSWORTH died of a rare form of nerve cell cancer on APRIL 8th, 2014.
“CHAD and LACEY are two stories that hit home with both U of M and MSU fan bases," DOUG KARSCH said. "It’s a way to give back. Both SCOTT ANDERSON and MIKE VALENTI could not have said yes any faster, when challenged to the wager for the upcoming game.”
