It was another fun night in HOLLYWOOD as RCA RECORDS gathered members of the industry together TUESDAY (10/21) to celebrate the release of “That’s Christmas To Me” from YOUTUBE sensation and third season winners of NBC's The Sing Off, PENTATONIX.
The holiday-themed album comes on the heels of the a cappella act's Top 5 debuting EP "VOL III", released just last month. The new release is looking to be a Top 5 debut as well.
Following a pre-show dinner at the legendary RAINBOW ROOM on the SUNSET STRIP, everyone made their way next door to the equally legendary ROXY to watch the vocal magic take place. A line had formed around the building well before the sold-out event and by show time it was wall-to-wall people inside.
The TEXAS quintet opened with a medley of hits from DESTINY’S CHILD and BEYONCE, nailing each segment. Their vocals and strong harmonies shined and the audience clearly ate it up, applauding wildly after each number, which included impressive covers of ARIANA GRANDE’s "Problem," CLEAN BANDIT’s "Rather Be" a mash-up of NAUGHTY BOY’s "La La La" and DISCLOSURE’s "Latch" and a very cool original number titled "Evolution Of Music," a four-minute tour-de-force, which creatively merged a variety of musical milestones into one single song.
They closed the show with their special take on "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" from the new album, which had the audience clapping and stomping their feet.
Our thanks to the RCA RECORDS team and to PENTATONIX for an amazing night of entertainment.
