HAMISH AND ANDY will move to afternoon drive on national Australian radio next year as 4-6p weekday hosts at SOUTHERN CROSS AUSTEREO's TODAY NETWORK stations.
The duo, presently heard 3-4p on "HAMISH AND ANDY'S HAPPY HOUR," will replace DAN AND MAZ, who move to mornings at affiliate 2DAY FM/SYDNEY. HAMISH AND ANDY's move will take place next JULY; DAN AND MAZ (DAN DEBUF and MAZ COMPTON) will move to mornings at 2DAY in JANUARY, replacing SOPHIE MONK, JULES LUND, and MERRICK WATTS. The release announcing the changes says that "an exciting announcement" of WATTS' "involvement across the SCA network in 2015" is coming. LUND will move into afternoons as the interim network host pending HAMIS AND ANDY's debut in the time slot.
HAMISH BLAKE and ANDY LEE, in the press release, said, "We're so stoked to be jumping into the Drive slot, it's something we've always wanted to do. Ever since that time we did it for five years. It's going to be so much fun."
SCA Exec. Dir./Metropolitan Operations GUY DOBSON said, “It’s a great day for radio when HAMISH and ANDY do five days in a row, live, which means it’s a great day for SOUTHERN CROSS AUSTEREO. It’s also fantastic when we get to promote young talent like we’ve done so many times in the past, to spearhead your key players. DAN and MAZ will do exceptional radio waking up SYDNEY at 2DAY FM.”
