Last FRIDAY OCTOBER 24th, iHEARTMEDIA's Classic Rock WFBQ (Q 95)/INDIANAPOLIS embarked upon a 12-hour charity drive to benefit GLEANERS FOOD BANK of INDIANA. From 7a to 7p (ET) at WALMART of GREENWOOD, IN, WFBQ's "Operation Cans" event collected canned goods and non-perishable food items for less fortunate members of the INDIANAPOLIS Community.
TOM GRISWOLD and CHICK MCGEE from the nationally syndicated BOB & TOM SHOW, along with WFBQ midday host LAURA STEELE, were on hand throughout the day collecting donations. Q-95's afternoon show originated from the event, hosted by GUNNER.
As this charity drive took place in OCTOBER, GLEANERS FOOD BANK will be able to turn the donations around to provide meals on THANKSGIVING. "Operation Cans" collected enough cash and food to provide nearly 6,000 meals to those who would otherwise go hungry this holiday season.
