NASHVILLE-based ROUND HILL MUSIC has acquired ROOT 49 MUSIC in a publishing deal that gives them control over the song catalogs of BRIDGETTE TATUM, DANNY MYRICK and ODIE BLACKMON, who have penned hit songs for JASON ALDEAN, TIM McGRAW, CHRIS CAGLE and GARY ALLAN, among others.
"I am delighted to be reunited with this superior song catalog and to continue my work with DANNY MYRICK," said ROUND HILL MUSIC VP MARK BROWN.
In 2008, ROOT 49 MUSIC was founded by NASHVILLE publisher CAROLYN MILLER and songwriters BRIDGETTE TATUM and DANNY MYRICK. In 2011, the company signed GRAMMY-nominated songwriter ODIE BLACKMON. To date, ROOT 49 MUSIC's catalog boasts 635 songs.
TATUM, MYRICK and BLACKMON have written dozens of hit songs for some of the biggest names in NASHVILLE. BLACKMON penned the GARY ALLAN hit, “Pieces", and has written songs for country icons GEORGE STRAIT and LEE ANN WOMACK. Both TATUM and MYRICK penned JASON ALDEAN's #1 song, "She's Country.” In addition, MYRICK has co-written hits such as CHRIS CAGLE’s "Got My Country On," TIM McGRAW’s "Truck Yeah" as well as CRAIG MORGAN’s "International Harvester."
ROOT 49 MUSIC already has a strong connection with ROUND HILL, whose NASHVILLE VP/GM MARK BROWN, served as Chief Creative Officer for ROOT 49 MUSIC from 2010 to 2013. Earlier in 2014, MYRICK signed a new deal with the joint venture between ROUND HILL MUSIC and MARTI FREDERIKSEN's RIDING SONGS (AEROSMITH, GAVIN ROSSDALE, OZZY OSBOURNE).
