Representatives from AT&T, ERICCSON, NOKIA's HERE, QUALCOMM, SPRINT and VERIZON brought connected cars to the FCC WEDNESDAY morning (10/29) to lobby and demonstrate what CTIA, THE WIRELESS ASSOCIATION called the "incredible innovations and offerings" being developed for in-car use.
The CTIA said that the event addressed two policy areas, including spectrum -- the CTIA said that "(t)he connected car is only possible if there is more spectrum" -- and that in the Open Internet proceeding at the Commission, "it is vitally important that policymakers recognize that 'wireless is different,'" asking that the industry's innovation "not (be) stifled by unnecessary government regulation."
