SALEM COMMUNICATIONS is bringing its "THE ANSWER" News-Talk brand to two more of its stations as of TUESDAY (ELECTION DAY) at 6a local time, rebranding News-Talk WRC-A/WASHINGTON and KLUP-A/SAN ANTONIO as "AM 1260 THE ANSWER" and "AM 930 THE ANSWER," respectively.
SALEM VP Director of Spoken Word Format PHIL BOYCE said, "Since this is decision day in AMERICA, we felt the perfect time to make the brand name switch was on ELECTION DAY, and both markets were ready to go. The name has resonated with our listeners in these markets (the 11 in which SALEM uses the slogan) who have come to rely on our stations for lots of everyday answers, both big and small. How to get control of the country again is a big question for many of our listeners, and our stations do seem to have the ANSWER."
WASHINGTON Regional VP DAVID RULEMAN said, "We have a great lineup of intelligent hosts, and great information elements. Washingtonians are full of questions. We’re giving them THE ANSWER."
SAN ANTONIO GM MICHAEL PAYNE added, "KLUP has had a long history in the market but we wanted a name that actually meant something, if we were going to say it 100 times a day. THE ANSWER really means something to our listeners."
