Retired basketball coaches JOE B. HALL and DENNY CRUM have ended their regionally syndicated sports talk show after 10 years, reports the LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER.
"THE JOE B. AND DENNY SHOW" was airing on 18 affiliates, but the hosts were informed that their flagship station, CUMULUS News-Talk WVLK-F/LEXINGTON, is changing formats (to NASH ICON) and would no longer carry the show. The THURSDAY edition of the show was its last episode. HALL and host TONY CRUISE were based in LEXINGTON while CRUM, the former UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE coach, hosted from a studio in LOUISVILLE.
"The decision was made in ATLANTA by corporate," HALL, the former UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY coach, told the paper. "I called them. They were pleasant, but they said, 'You don't understand radio. This happens often. We've changed formats.'"
