A BASE jumper attempting to parachute from the tower of PBS affiliate KETC-TV and HUBBARD Sports WXOS (101 ESPN) and Country WIL/ST. LOUIS had to be rescued by firefighters THURSDAY night (10/30) after he got stuck on a guy wire for two hours while descending.
TIMOTHY CHURCH of CHESTERFIELD, MO and an alleged accomplice, BRANDON TRAVIS of ST. CHARLES COUNTY, were arrested for trespassing at the tower in South ST. LOUIS COUNTY after CHURCH was able to free himself from the tangled harness with a knife.
The radio stations switched to a backup transmission site while firefighters pulled CHURCH off the wire about 120-130 feet off the ground.
