ABC-TV Selects '15 Songs That Changed Country Music'

Last NIGHT (11/03), ABC-TV aired "Countdown to the CMA Awards: 15 Songs That Changed Country Music." The special was hosted by ROBIN ROBERTS, who spoke with some of the biggest names in Country music today to get their opinions on the list of influential songs.
As ROBERTS told "ABC News," in regard to the final list, "it's all open for debate." The list of 15 songs that changed Country music is as follows:
1. "Crazy" by PATSY CLINE
2. "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by GEORGE JONES
3. "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" by HANK WILLIAMS
4. "Friends In Low Places" by GARTH BROOKS
5. "Folsom Prison Blues" by JOHNNY CASH
6. "Mama Tried" by MERLE HAGGARD
7. "The Gambler" by KENNY ROGERS
8. "Stand By Your Man" by TAMMY WYNETTE
9. "Independence Day" by MARTINA MCBRIDE
10. "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" by ALAN JACKSON
11. "Love Story" by TAYLOR SWIFT
12. "Islands In The Stream" by DOLLY PARTON & KENNY ROGERS
13. "Coal Miner's Daughter" by LORETTA LYNN
14. "Live Like You Were Dying" by TIM MCGRAW
15. "I Will Always Love You" by DOLLY PARTONAs part of the televised special, LADY ANTEBELLUM paid tribute to the #12 song, performing "Islands In The Stream" by DOLLY PARTON and KENNY ROGERS. HUNTER HAYES and KACEY MUSGRAVES covered JOHNNY CASH's "Folsom Prison Blues" and PATSY CLINE's "Crazy," respectively. MARTINA MCBRIDE decided to forgo playing her own song, which hit at #9 on the list, in favor of paying tribute to TAMMY WYNETTE by performing "Stand By Your Man." Watch the performances here.
