Former NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO President and press secretary to ROBERT F. KENNEDY's 1968 presidential campaign FRANK MANKIEWICZ died OCTOBER 23rd of a heart attack at 90.
MANKIEWICZ, son of Oscar-winning "CITIZEN KANE" screenwriter HERMAN MANKIEWICZ, nephew of Oscar-winning director/writer JOSEPH MANKEWICZ, and father of "DATELINE NBC" reporter JOSH MANKIEWICZ and TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES host and former SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO "YOUNG TURKS" co-host and correspondent BEN MANKIEWICZ, was NPR's President in 1977-1983.
He was best known for giving the public statement of ROBERT F. KENNEDY's death, as a Democratic Party stalwart who worked on several campaigns and wrote a column with TOM BRADEN, and as a longtime public relations executive at HILL AND KNOWLTON.
