TEXAS radio station owner and talk radio host DAN PATRICK won election as Lieutenant Governor of the state in TUESDAY's election.
PATRICK, a Republican and a State Senator from the 7th District (part of HOUSTON and its northwest suburbs), handily defeated Democrat LETICIA VAN DE PUTTE in the race by a 57%-39% margin. He was widely considered the favorite after beating incumbent DAVID DEWHURST in a primary runoff election for the Republican nomination.
PATRICK's shows aired on his own News-Talk KSEV-A (700 THE VOICE)/HOUSTON and Business Talk KVCE-A/DALLAS, the latter now operated by SALEM under an LMA, before the elections.
