WESTWOOD ONE SPORTS will salute the military during VETERANS DAY week by taking MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL's pregame and halftime shows out of the studio and to a special location, and by broadcasting college basketball from the NAVAL ACADEMY.
First, on MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, the pregame and halftime shows hosted by JIM GRAY will air live from the USS AMERICA, the new naval ship docked in SAN DIEGO. Hall of Famer ERIC DICKERSON will be on hand, and NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS QB TOM BRADY and ARIZONA CARDINALS receiver LARRY FITZGERALD, weekly contributors to the broadcast, will field questions from the sailors.
On FRIDAY, WESTWOOD ONE will air the inaugural QUICKEN LOANS VETERANS CLASSIC college basketball doubleheader from the campus of the U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY in ANNAPOLIS, with TENNESSEE playing VCU and MICHIGAN STATE taking on NAVY. JOHN SADAK and former GEORGETOWN coach JOHN THOMPSON SR. will call the games.
EVP/Exec. Producer HOWARD DENEROFF said, “We are honored to have the opportunity to broadcast these programs from the USS AMERICA and the NAVAL ACADEMY. We have tremendous appreciation for our military and we know that many of them are huge sports fans. We look forward to sharing these events with them in person and with our listeners nationwide.”
