PREMIERE NETWORKS syndicated THE BOBBY BONES SHOW raised over $150,000 recently in honor of co-host AMY's mother, JUDY, who recently passed away from cancer (NET NEWS 10/28). The hefty sum was presented to ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL last week after listeners responded to AMY's request to make donations to ST. JUDE in lieu of flowers or other contributions to JUDY's funeral.
In just one week's time, listeners of THE BOBBY BONES SHOW, along with artists such as DIERKS BENTLEY, LITTLE BIG TOWN, and LINDSAY ELL, had raised over $150,000 for ST. JUDE. THE BOBBY BONES SHOW's BOBBY BONES, AMY, LUNCHBOX, EDDIE, NADA, and CRUZ made a trip to ST. JUDE to present the donation, tour the hospital, and decorate cupcakes with the patients. BONES' band THE RAGING IDIOTS also played a special show for the patients and their families with special guest MAGGIE ROSE. ST. JUDE also presented AMY and the show with a plaque, that will be displayed at the hospital in honor of JUDY, reading: "In memory of JUDY we choose joy every day."
"We've worked with ST. JUDE a lot in the past," explained BONES. "They do such important work, so anytime we're able to support them, we jump at the chance."
