The COUNTRY RADIO BROADCASTERS (CRB) have selected CAPITOL NASHVILLE trio LADY ANTEBELLUM to receive the CRS 2015 ARTIST HUMANITARIAN AWARD. The award will be presented on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25th, 2015 as part of the opening ceremonies of CRS 2015.
"It is always humbling and inspiring to learn of the great work that Country artists do behind the scenes to share the many blessings and gifts that come with fame and stardom," remarked CRS Pres. CHARLIE MORGAN. "I would argue no format has a more generous group of artists than we do, and at CRS 2015 we will pay special tribute to one of the best, LADY ANTEBELLUM with our ARTIST HUMANITARIAN AWARD."
CHARLES KELLEY, DAVE HAYWOOD and HILLARY SCOTT have utilized their influence and assets since the beginning of their career to make a difference across the country. Most recently, their week-long 7FOR7 campaign saw them traveling across the country surprising fans and fulfilling wishes for seven days (NET NEWS 9/24). LADY ANTEBELLUM has taken on rebuilding a flood-damaged elementary school in KINGSTON SPRINGS, TN, have performed at a tornado-ravaged high school in HENRYVILLE, IN raising more than $240,000 for the school, and has spent time raising money for at-risk youth.
LADY ANTEBELLEUM also established LADYAID in DECEMBER 2012 through which they raise money for children's needs in conjunction with VANDERBILT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL, CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK, MYLIFESPEAKS, and others. The CRB ARTIST HUMANITARIAN AWARD was created in 1990 by the organization's board to honor those who exhibit such exceptional humanitarian efforts during their career. LADY ANTEBELLUM now joins the ranks of previous recipients including RANDY OWEN, REBA MCENTIRE, VINCE GILL, GARTH BROOKS, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, RASCAL FLATTS, and many others.
In addition, CHARLES, DAVE, and HILLARY will be featured panelists on "How 3 Become 1: LADY ANTEBELLUM" scheduled for THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26th, 2015 at 10a (CT). The trio will discuss how they balance the talents and creativity of three individuals in an effort to create one song, one album, and ultimately one band.
