RIVIERA Top 40/Rhythmic KKFR (POWER 98.3)/PHOENIX has teamed with the PHOENIX outlet of the national self-service salvage auto parts firm, U PULL & PAY, for the annual OPERATION GIVE THANKS charity drive benefiting UMOM NEW DAY CENTERS. In part of OPERATION GIVE THANKS, POWER 98.3 has been setting up across the VALLEY OF THE SUN collecting toiletries. In addition, POWER 98.3 and U PULL & PAY have been renovating the KID'S DEN at the UMOM NEW DAY CENTERS. The new, updated room will be unveiled with a ribbon cutting ceremony on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21st.
UMOM is the largest homeless shelter for families in the state of ARIZONA. Every night UMOM provides safe shelter and supportive services for over 170 families in the PHOENIX area. UMOM also offers nearly 300 units of affordable housing throughout the valley for families.
With OPERATION GIVE THANKS, KKFR and U PULL & PAY have been able to help hundreds of families break the cycle of homelessness. The KID'S DEN program at UMOM is for homeless children in Kindergarten through 5th grade and provides safe, interactive, and educational after school programming on the campus. The new KID'S DEN will be a comforting environment for the children to reside after school, complete homework, and have fun.
UMOM Child Development Dir. KRESTA HORN commented, "The transformation POWER 98.3 and U PULL & PAY has made to our KID'S DEN space will make a long lasting impact on the kids we serve. We are so thankful for the countless hours and dollars that were put into the project!"
