RED ZEBRA BROADCASTING Sports WTEM-A (ESPN980)/WASHINGTON's "THE SPORTS FIX" noon-2p (ET) show is celebrating its fifth anniversary TODAY (11/19). The show is hosted by KEVIN SHEEHAN and THOM LOVERRO.
VP/Programming CHUCK SAPIENZA said, “This SPORTS FIX has been a constant performer. KEVIN, THOM and (producer) MARC (STERNE) perform at a high level every day and it shows in their consistency and ratings success.”
LOVERRO said, “One out of five marriages end in divorce after five years. The average NFL career is less than five years. DAVID BOWIE once sang, ‘Five years, that’s all we got.’ So five years of ‘THE SPORTS FIX’ is quite an accomplishment. I didn’t know how long we would last after I met KEVIN for the first time, and he said, “Do you like snow? I really like snow.’ But when I saw he was just as passionate and smart about sports as he was about the weather, I knew we had something special.”
SHEEHAN added, “Five years ago, they told me I was going to get a smart, informed co-host when we started THE SPORTS FIX, then THOM LOVERRO showed up. I'm still waiting. No, seriously, it's been a great five years together. I love doing the show with TOMMY. I love the show we've created. It's the easiest and most enjoyable two hours of my day. I hope those that listen feel the same way."
And producer STERNE said. “If THE THREE STOOGES and the Three Musketeers got together and had kids, those kids would have been THE SPORTS FIX. I like to think of the show as the table at a restaurant that's having so much fun, that everybody else in the place wishes they were sitting with us.”
