CUMULUS News KGO-A/SAN FRANCISCO is adding another weekday midday talk show with the addition of a new noon-3p (PT) show hosted by former iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk KOGO-A/SAN DIEGO morning host and HEARST News-Talk WBAL-A/BALTIMORE host CHIP FRANKLIN. FRANKLIN starts the new show, which replaces a noon hour of news with KIM FOSTER and two hours of “AFTER THE BELL” business news, on DECEMBER 8th.
CUMULUS EVP/Content and Programming JOHN DICKEY said, “"KGO strives to inform and entertain the BAY AREA with relevant news and compelling talk hosted by big personalities. CHIP FRANKLIN's point of view, intelligence and wit are going to drive some amazing conversations on KGO."
FRANKLIN said, “The current narrative is that SAN FRANCISCO is all liberals, progressives and Democrats mixed in with the occasional 4.9. Maybe, but I see it more as a city that simply embraces freedom and more to the point, the free expression of ideas regardless of ideology. Whether it's politics, art, music or comedy, it all starts with a passion for discovery – discovery of life here in the BAY AREA, the wider world, and our inner lives.”
KGO's News lineup presently breaks for talk shows with RONN OWENS 9a-noon and the syndicated JOHN BATCHELOR show and a repeat of OWENS' show overnights, and talk shows all weekend.
