ED STOLZ, through the estate of his late wife IRENE, is back with a petition for reconsideration of the grant of the license renewals for ENTERCOM News-Talk WRKO-A, Sports WEEI-A (ESPN 850), Sports WEEI-F, and Active Rock WAAF/BOSTON.
The license renewals were granted earlier this month, denying STOLZ' informal objection; the new filing adds the controversy over the fatal 2007 KDND/SACRAMENTO "Hold Your Wee For A Wii" contest and demands that the Commission not grant renewals for any ENTERCOM stations until it "conducts a full and fair hearing" on the matter. STOLZ has been in a long-running battle with ENTERCOM since the latter bought KWOD (now KBZC)/SACRAMENTO from him in 1996 and ENTERCOM sued him for allegedly attempting to back out of the deal.
