Kudos to LEADERSHIP MUSIC (LM), which raised more than $25,000 for SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK of MIDDLE TENNESSEE by rallying friends and alumni for contributions. That total translates to more than 100,000 meals to those in need and exceeded the organization’s initial goal of $5,000.
LEADERSHIP MUSIC President DIANE PEARSON challenged all previous LM classes to a collegial fundraising competition. The self-proclaimed “Best class ever” alums of 2012 emerged as the winner, followed by ’03, ’07, ’08 and ’11 rounding out the top five.
“We are so proud to be part of an organization and an industry that lives by the creed ‘From those to whom much is given, much is expected,’” said PEARSON. “Although we framed this as a friendly competition among classes, it was really all about feeding the hungry.”
