GARRISON KEILLOR will take a few weeks off from MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO and AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA's "A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION," reports the ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS. Mandolin player CHRIS THILE will host the FEBRUARY 7th and 14th editions of the show.
In a release, KEILLOR said, "'PRAIRIE HOME' has been a pretty dependable show, and now and then it likes to do something entirely different. CHRIS THILE is a gifted artist and a great musical enthusiast of far-ranging interests. He is a great choice to host two shows in FEBRUARY, along with music director RICH DWORSKY and the Acting Company (TIM RUSSELL, SUE SCOTT and sound effects man FRED NEWMAN), and I look forward to sitting at home and listening to them."
KEILLOR has handed over hosting duties before, notably to THILE's NICKEL CREEK bandmate SARA WATKINS in 2011 (with KEILLOR as a guest).
