Cleveland Personality Carl Reese Dies At 83

Condolences to family and friends of longtime CLEVELAND radio personality CARL REESE, who died WEDNESDAY after a long illness at 83, according to the CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER's TOM FERAN.

"CAPTAIN CARL" started his career on the AMERICAN FORCES NETWORK and worked at WJER-A/CANTON and WCVE-A/AKRON, then began in the CLEVELAND market at NBC's WTAM-A and WNBK-TV (now WKYC-TV) in 1952, moving to WERE-A in 1954, WHK-A in 1961, then, after a brief stint at KYW-A (the renamed WESTINGHOUSE version of WTAM-A), to WJW-A in 1964, where he stayed for 18 years.  He later worked at WBBG-A, WRMR-A, and WCLV-A.
