No official word yet, but it appears that RONNIE DUNN has inked a deal with the NASH ICON record label. The singer posted a photo of himself on THANKSGIVING (11/27) wearing a black cap emblazoned with "NASHCHETTA" and captioned it: "Got my new company cap yesterday ... NASH ICON/NASHCHETTA/BIG MACHINE. Thanks, NARVEL, JIM WEATHERSTON, SCOTT BORCHETTA." When asked by a fan in the comments on the photo if he was working on new music or with a new label, DUNN simply responded "Both."
While there has been no official statement from any of the involved parties, it would appear that DUNN is preparing for a new partnership with NASH ICON GM JIM WEATHERSON, BMLG's SCOTT BORCHETTA, and possibly new management with NARVEL BLACKSTOCK. REBA was the first signing to the BMLG/CUMULUS MEDIA joint-venture label when she inked her deal with NASH ICON in OCTOBER (NET NEWS 10/21).
Just a day before posting the photo, DUNN took to social media stating "Talking to KIX. He's talkin' back," which fueled rumors of a possible BROOKS & DUNN reunion. However, DUNN was quick to quell the rumors, commenting on his own post stating, "Not saying reunion..." If the NASH ICON deal with DUNN has gone through, it would put him under the CUMULUS MEDIA umbrella with his former partner, KIX BROOKS, who currently hosts the CUMULUS-syndicated radio show "AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN."
