IHEARTMEDIA Urban WGCI (107.5)/CHICAGO PD KENARD KARTER exits after just nine months on the job, along with morning show personalities TONY SCULFIELD and NINA CHANTELE, reports ROBERTFEDER.COM. The sole survivor of the morning team, LEON ROGERS, will stay on with soon-to-be-named new hosts. In the interim, ROGERS will co-host mornings with weekend personality ROB NICE.
Meanwhile, KARTER's PD duties will be assumed by Dir./Urban Programming DERRICK BROWN.
An iHEARTMEDIA spokeswoman said in a statement, "Like any business, we periodically review our operations and programming to ensure that we are meeting our listeners needs and providing them with the best and most relevant content. Occasionally this means that we need to make some changes and offer other programming that we believe will resonate well with the audience."
The "THE MORNING RIOT" of SCULFIELD, CHANTELE and ROGERS launched in APRIL 2009 when the syndicated STEVE HARVEY MORNING SHOW was moved to sister station Urban AC WVAZ (V103).
