Nothing official from the BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP or its Pres./CEO SCOTT BORCHETTA, but US WEEKLY reports that BORCHETTA will soon be announced as in-house mentor for the upcoming season 14 of “American Idol.”

US says that BORCHETTA would assume the role previously handled by longtime judge and last year’s mentor, RANDY JACKSON, who shared that position with music industry giant JIMMY IOVINE. Both left the show following season 13.

If true, BORCHETTA would be joining existing judges KEITH URBAN, JENNIFER LOPEZ and HARRY CONNICK JR. as well as AI host RYAN SEACREST.
