'2014 No Shave November For St. Jude Kids' Raises Over $143K

The "2014 NO SHAVE NOVEMBER FOR ST. JUDE KIDS" was a success, raising over $143,000 for ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL.

The annual "BEARD BASH" was held YESTERDAY (12/1) at NASHVILLE's MUSIC ROW KITCHEN & PUB and was hosted by iHEARTMEDIA Country WUSY/CHATTANOOGA personalities GATOR and STYCKMAN (NET NEWS 12/1). "Chairman of the Beard" DAVE HAYWOOD of LADY ANTEBELLUM was on-hand for the event and snagged "The Beard Al Yankovich" award for the best song parody. Celebrity participant KEIFER THOMPSON of THOMPSON SQUARE had the highest individual fundraising total and was honored with the "O-fur-all Fundrazor" award for contributions of over $15,000 for ST. JUDE.

Earning the "Label Fundrazors" trophy for 2014 was BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP (BMLG)'s "BEARDS FOR MY HORSES" team, who raised $25,675 for the cause.  BMLG team participant ALEX HEDDLE took him the "Scraggle Rock" award for scraggliest beard, while VALORY SVP/Promotion GEORGE BRINER snagged the coveted "Beard Of The Year" trophy. The all-female "TEAM LEG HAIR DON'T CARE" secured over $10,000 in donations, and co-captains MARCI BRAUN of WUSN/CHICAGO and SUZANNE DURHAM were honored with the "ZZ Top" award and the "#NoShaveNovember" award for social media participation respectively. "TEAM CURB" was honored with the "Look For The Label Union" award for the largest label fundraising team while KRWQ/Medford's "TEAMQ" won the "Herd It On The Radio" award for largest radio fundraising team.  "TEAMQ" also walked away with the "Radio Fundrazors" award for highest raising radio team with over $15,000 in donations, and team member JASON ALLEN was awarded the "Most Valuable Beard" trophy, though "TEAMQ" was not able to be on-site.
