Heilmann Leaves Curtis Media/Raleigh For Station Ownership

CURTIS MEDIA/RALEIGH VP/GM RICK HEILMANN is leaving the cluster – which includes Country WQDR -- to pursue station ownership after finalizing the purchase of WFNL/RALEIGH, NC from CURTIS YESTERDAY (12/1).

Currently dark, WFNL will be the centerpiece of HEILMANN’s just-formed company,  TRIANGLE MARKETING ASSOCIATES. The signal became available following CURTIS’ acquisition of MCCLATCHEY Classic Hits WKIX, which put them over the FCC station ownership cap.

No word from CURTIS on who will succeed HEILMANN, who spent 25 years with the RALEIGH cluster.
