JAMES CRYSTAL ENTERPRISES' JCE LICENSES, LLC has been fined $7,200 for EAS violations at Religion KBXD-A/DALLAS. The station admitted that it had not installed an EAS receiver at the time of the inspection but was operating under a construction permit and was awaiting a new receiver, which was defective upon arrival; the repaired unit was eventually installed. The fine was reduced based on a history of compliance, but JCE's further request for reduction based on its Chapter 11 filing was rejected.
The FCC has also dismissed as untimely BOLD GOLD MEDIA WBS, L.P.'s petition for reconsideration of a $6,000 fine for failure to install EAS equipment at Classic Hits WWRR (105 THE RIVER)/SCRANTON. The appeal was filed after the deadline for such petitions.
