Condolences to family and friends of longtime FLINT, MI radio newsman LES ROOT, who died MONDAY (12/8) after a brief illness at 75, according to the FLINT JOURNAL/MLIVE.COM.
Starting his career at WFBE/FLINT while in high school, he graduated in 1957 and worked at WMRP-A and WBBC-A/WTRX-A as a DJ, newsman and, starting in 1964, News Director before joining WFDF-A as News Director in 1970. He was at WFDF-A until the station's 2002 sale and then joined CUMULUS' cluster as News Director through FEBRUARY 2009, when he was laid off by CUMULUS.
