iHEARTMEDIA Urban WOWI (103 JAMZ)/NORFOLK and former NFL player DAVID "DJ" MOORE are partnering on the "MOORE Food" campaign to collect donations for the FOODBANK OF SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA AND THE EASTERN SHORE TODAY (12/10). MOORE is donating $1,003 to the cause.
MOORE said, “Growing up, my mom was addicted to crack cocaine and all my siblings were in jail. Due to these circumstances, I faced homelessness at a young age. I remember sleeping on store steps and thinking to myself ‘is life really worth living?’ Luckily I had some great people around me, who not only convinced me to continue another day, but pushed me through high school, college and onto the NFL.... through their encouragement and support, I had the opportunity to play five great years with the NFL. Hopefully me reaching out changes the life of someone else. This is why I would love to give. I am a firm believer that we should all lend a helping hand to our fellow man if we can help him do better. And if we all did our part, we would make this world a better place for all of us!”
PD MIKE STREET said, “We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with DJ MOORE to help our community this holiday season. We know our listeners are passionate people who care about their neighbors and will join in the fight against hunger in HAMPTON ROADS.”
