The PAN-MASS CHALLENGE annual bike-a-thon is changing radio partners, moving from its six year run with ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-F/BOSTON to crosstown GREATER MEDIA Classic Hits WROR, starting on JANUARY 1st. The event has raised $455 million for DANA-FARBER CANCER INSTITUTE over the years. WROR will be joined in promoting the event by sister AC WMJX (MAGIC 106.7), Country WKLB, Top 40/Rhythmic WBQT (HOT 96.9), and Triple A WBOS (RADIO 92.9). The station will host a live broadcast on JULY 31st in STURBRIDGE, MA before the PMC's opening ceremony in 2015, and the cluster will field a riding team of its own, including WROR hosts LOREN OWENS, WALLY BRINE, LAUREN BECKHAM FALCONE, HANK MORSE, and JULIE DEVEREAUX and producer BRIAN BELL.
PAN-MASS CHALLENGE Founder and Executive Director BILLY STARR said, “The PMC is thrilled to embark on a long-term collaboration with GREATER MEDIA. We are confident the support will foster further awareness of the PMC story and drive a call-to-action to get involved in MASSACHUSETTS and beyond. The new partnership will increase exposure for the PMC as we gear up for our 36th ride and in the years to come.”
GREATER MEDIA VP/Market Manager ROB WILLIAMS said, "GREATER MEDIA loves to partner with charitable organizations that have a clear mission and a proven track record of making a difference in our community; and, none embody that more than the PAN-MASS CHALLENGE. Everyone here is excited for the entire experience, from promoting the event, to bringing in sponsors, and of course, to joining in the ride!"
Morning co-host LOREN OWENS said, “What an exciting opportunity and honor to be part of the most successful fundraising event in the country and supporting such an amazing charity that benefits DANA-FARBER CANCER INSTITUTE through the JIMMY FUND.”
