ABC Sets 9/11 Anniversary Coverage, Labor Day Specials

ABC NEWS RADIO's coverage of the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 will include live anchored coverage from GROUND ZERO, the PENTAGON, the crash site in SHANKSVILLE, PA, and the WHITE HOUSE. In addition, the network will offer facilities for up to 30 affiliates to broadcast live from GROUND ZERO.
The network's GIL GROSS, JIM HICKEY, AARON KATERSKY, LARRY JACOBS, and CHERI PRESTON will be at GROUND ZERO, while ANN COMPTON will be at the WHITE HOUSE, PAM COULTER at the PENTAGON, and STEVEN PORTNOY in SHANKSVILLE. That evening, GROSS will also host a live one-hour special recapping the day's events. The network will also feed three-minute modular coverage twice an hour from 11:06a ET through 3:36p ET, also anchored by GROSS and usable for terrestrial, HD, or Internet streaming broadcast. A ten-part series, "REMEMBER 9/11," will be available to affiliates in the days leading up to the anniversary.
The network is also offering three specials for LABOR DAY weekend, "AMERICA REMEMBERS SEPTEMBER 11- A FRED THOMPSON SPECIAL," "ABC NEWS RADIO/CONSUMER REPORTS BACK TO SCHOOL GUIDE 2006," and "STUPID IN AMERICA: HOW WE CHEAT OUR KIDS- A JOHN STOSSEL SPECIAL," all one-hour shows offered to affiliates for airing over the three-day holiday weekend.
