PREMIERE NETWORKS has upped SVP of Sports LOS ANGELES DON MARTIN to SVP of Sports Programming, adding responsibility for PREMIERE and FOX SPORTS RADIO to his responsibilities overseeing Sports KLAC-A/LOS ANGELES. MARTIN's new duties coincide with the exit of BRUCE GILBERT, who is leaving for CUMULUS and WESTWOOD ONE (see separate story). MARTIN will report to PREMIERE President JULIE TALBOTT and, for KLAC, will continue to report to iHEARTMEDIA SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA President GREG ASHLOCK.
TALBOTT said, “We’re in the business of creating and delivering the most relevant sports personalities and content, while leveraging exceptional results for our partners, and DON MARTIN has the experience and track record to lead that effort. I couldn’t be happier to have him return to the PREMIERE NETWORKS-FOX SPORTS RADIO family, and I’m confident he will help drive continued growth and success for our leading sports entertainment programming.”
MARTIN, who served as VP/GM of FOX SPORTS NETWORK in 2009-12 and as SVP Sports Programming in 2012-13, said, "When JULIE TALBOTT and DARREN DAVIS call, everybody listens! I’m thrilled to team up with JULIE, DARREN and the PREMIERE team once again. I’m also looking forward to reuniting with the incredible FOX SPORTS RADIO family."
