GATEWAY CREATIVE BROADCASTING Contemporary Christian KHZR (BOOST 101.9)/ST. LOUIS, FULL RIDE MUSIC GROUP, and RAPZILLA.COM welcomed a sold-out crowd to HOPE FOR THE CITY in ST. LOUIS on SATURDAY DECEMBER 13th at FRIENDLY TEMPLE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH.
Hosted by LECRAE and featuring performances by THI'SL, FLAME, DEREK MINOR, J.R., and PROPAGANDA, proceeds from the event went towards healing and rebuilding efforts in FERGUSON and the ST. LOUIS area.
ST. LOUIS' own GRAMMY Award-winning Hip-Hop artist THI'SL and two-time PGA MASTERS Champion BUBBA WATSON combined their personal efforts, presenting GRIFFITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL of FERGUSON a check for $25,000 to repair vandalism and replace stolen technology.
Principal SEAN JOYCE said, "I am completely blown away and speechless. Thank you to THI'SL for his heart for ST. LOUIS and generosity. This gift will have such a positive impact on GRIFFITH ELEMENTARY students."
SATURDAY afternoon before the concert, THI'SL and BOOST 101.9 listeners gathered under the GATEWAY ARCH for a public display of worship, prayer, and unity. BOOST PD/MIKE COUCHMAN said, "A craving for unity among all of GOD’s people is at the center of why BOOST 101.9 exists. HOPE FOR THE CITY gave the world a glimpse of what HEAVEN on EARTH can look like when we all come together."
Extensive coverage of PRAYER UNDER THE ARCH and HOPE FOR THE CITY was featured on local TV news outlets including FOX affiliate KTVI-TV (FOX 2), NBC affiliate KSDK-TV, CW-affiliate KPLR-TV, and the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH.
