THE RADIO PEOPLE Top 40 WYOY (Y101)/JACKSON, MS helped thousands of local children celebrate CHRISTMAS with its annual “OPERATION ANGEL TREE”, and gave 60 families a flight of a lifetime to the NORTH POLE.
For the ninth consecutive year, Y101’s on-air staff (NATE WEST, TIM MURPHY, CHARLIE BUCHWALD and CARSON CASE) broadcast live from a local WALMART to collect toys and clothing for THE SALVATION ARMY “ANGEL TREE.”
A total of 60 "ANGEL TREE" kids and their families were selected by Y101, The 172nd MISSISSIPPI AIR NATION GUARD and THE SALVATION ARMY to take a flight on a C-130 to the NORTH POLE, where SANTA, MRS. CLAUS and 100 elves were there to personally deliver gifts to the kids before returning to JACKSON.
