NBC-TV's THE VOICE came to a conclusion last night, with CRAIG WAYNE BOYD chosen as the 7th season winner. MATT MCANDREW came in 2nd, CHRIS JAMISON was chosen for 3rd and DAMIEN LEWIS came in 4th.
WNBC-TV/NEW YORK reports, "CARSON DALY kicked off the star-studded show with some big news, the four finalists made history following MONDAY's showdown episode when each of their original songs made the top 10 on iTUNES."
The report notes, "in the first bring back song of the evening, Texan BOYD joined DANICA SHIREY, SUGAR JONES and fellow TEAM BLAKE alum TAYLOR BRASHEARS to deliver a rocking performance of GEORGIA SATELITES' 'Keep Your Hands to Yourself'. For his bring back number PHILADELPHIA son JAMISON enlisted fellow competitors RYAN SILL, LUKE WADE, RICKY MANNING and TAYLOR PHELAN to assist him in a fun rendition of LLOYD's 'Dedication to My Ex'. NEW JERSEY born music teacher MATT MCANDREW formed his own supergroup with TAYLOR JOHN WILLIAMS, JONES, PHELAN and MIA PFIRRMAN to belt out the FLEETWOOD MAC CLASSIC 'Go Your Own Way'. For MARVIN GAYE's 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough,' DAMIEN brought back 18-year-old ELYJUH RENE, SHIREY and ANITA ANTOINETTE."
The show concluded with coaches GWEN STEFANI, PHARRELL WILLIAMS, ADAM LEVINE and BLAKE SHELTON joining to sing "Have Yourself a Merry Little CHRISTMAS," with twinkling lights and falling snow in the background.
BOYD gets a UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP recording contract as this year's winner.
