THE ASSOCIATED PRESS and PODCASTONE will collaborate to deliver real-time news reports in on-demand podcasts with PODCASTONE’s AP Up-To-The-Minute Newscast. Exclusive insertion technology will enable PODCASTONE to make the most current 60-second news feature, delivered by AP’s journalists, available to each listener at the exact time the podcast is downloaded. Creating a new opportunity for advertisers, each feature is estimated to reach more than six million listeners via 18 daily news reports, produced seven days a week, beginning JANUARY 2015.
“We are very pleased to provide AP news and information for PODCASTONE and industry pioneer NORM PATTIZ,” said AP Dir./Broadcast Markets MICHAEL FABIANO. "THE ASSOCIATED PRESS has multiple forms of content, including text, images, video, audio and assignment services for a variety of emerging digital platforms."
PODCASTONE Chairman/CEO NORM PATTIZ added, “The podcast industry is moving faster than ever, and this is another example of PodcastOne investing heavily in the future of the platform. This has never been done before because there has never been a podcast platform with the technology, excellent content, and sheer number of shows with enough audience to cover all time periods, every day of every week. AP recognizes the opportunity and will be a great to work with. This cutting-edge movement is another step in the digital evolution of spoken word audio.”
