Guild Of Music Supervisor Awards Set For January 21st In Hollywood

THE GUILD OF MUSIC SUPERVISORS announced its fifth annual awards event taking place on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 21st, at MACK SENNETT STUDIOS in HOLLYWOOD. The awards will recognize outstanding Music Supervisors in 14 categories representing Motion Picture, Television, Games, Trailers and Advertising. The evening will also feature three very special performances by recording artists from ISLAND RECORDS, CAPITOL MUSIC GROUP and REPUBLIC RECORDS.
tHE GUILD OF MUSIC SUPERVISORS President JOHN HOULIHAN commented: "The efforts of Music Supervisors have resulted in an amazing year of music use in media. Music Supervisors know how to support story, elevate messaging and add immeasurable value to all forms of media. We have a stellar group of nominees this year and our fifth annual event will honor the most creative music uses of 2014."
Motion pictures whose supervisors have been nominated include “Guardians Of The Galaxy,” “Boyhood,” “The Fault In Our Stars” and “Into The Woods." On the TV side, nominees include “Girls,” “Glee,” “Nashville,” “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” “The Blacklist,” "Houdini," “The Voice” and “American Idol.”
Brands APPLE, COCA-COLA, NIKE and ALLSAINTS received recognition as contenders in the advertising category. In Games, FIFA 15, Sunset Overdrive, Hohokum, Forza Horizon 2 and The Sims 4 were highlighted as nominees. Film Trailer nominations include “Birdman” and “50 Shades Of Grey,” among others.
For the second year in a row THE GUILD OF MUSIC SUPERVISORS will hold their awards ceremony at MACK SENNETT STUDIOS to call attention to the role of Music Supervision and existing music has contributed to the history of motion pictures. MACK SENNETT STUDIOS is one of the most unique stage, still photography and event rental studios in the world. Built as a silent movie studio in 1916 by the legendary producer it is named after, this LOS ANGELES landmark has played host to countless productions for film, television, advertising, music, fashion and art industries, as well as large-scale events.
